Yahoo! Launches a New Crawler...If you've noticed any difference in the traffic coming to your blog or website from Yahoo! recently, then it could be due to the new Yahoo! Search Engine Crawler called, "Slurp."
Slurp? But This Isn't 7-Eleven!
Well, not to be confused with a Slurpee, "Slurp" is Yahoo!'s new web-indexing robot. It's their new web crawler that searches the web and indexes websites (puts content into the Yahoo! search engine).
And according to Yahoo!, Slurp is much faster and more efficient when crawling your site... meaning that it uses less of your bandwidth when visiting.
Sounds good to me! Slurp away!
