Kiwi's Dream Finally Comes True...

This is by far one of the most ingenious pieces of animation I've ever seen. It's quite sad when you think about it - but at least Kiwi finally achieved his dream of flight. Rock on Kiwi!

  3. I don't know. This totally depressed me. He is crying at the end because he is so absolutely happy and yet you know that he knows where he is actually headed. Why did he have to give his life to achieve his ultimate dream? What does that say to us? I don't know. This Kiwi thing got to me too much. Maybe it's the pain pills.

  4. Aaron,
My 3 year old daughter just loves watching this. Of course she doesn't quite understand what happens to Kiwi but she likes it and that's all that matters. If you're up for it have a look at my post about "I Dare You Not To Cry"
this had a huge impact on me. Make sure you play the music to go along with it.

    Cheers,
    Andrew

  5. Hey Andrew,

That's so cool that she likes it. It's an amazing piece of animation for sure. A bit sad, but amazing.

It was the artist's Master's Thesis Animation that he completed while at The School of Visual Arts, MFA Computer Art, in New York City.

And yes, I did see that post on your blog the other day. Very, very touching emotionally! It's really upsetting that some people have to suffer like that.

Actually, I can't remember ever seeing such a touching cartoon. Its creator must surely be on to some really big things in the entertainment industry. Let's hope anyway.

  7. I certainly hope he is! This cartoon was nothing short of brilliant.

I truly hope that he's been noticed by some big names like Disney an such. If not, then they're definitely missing out!
