My Blog Wears A Halloween Costume!

Since it's mid-October, and getting closer and closer to Halloween, I figured I'd have a little fun and dress this blog up a bit for the occasion. So, for the rest of the month of October, Aaron Cook Dot Com will be wearing its very own Halloween costume!

For the "costume" I added a neat, little flying bat cursor, and an animated background image of an expanding ring of fire. Spooky and cool...all at the same time!

Yeah, and who said you couldn't make a Blogger blog look cool!

Other Blogs With The Halloween Spirit

But I'm not the only one featuring a Halloween theme on my blog! Here are a few other bloggers I know of who've gotten into the Halloween spirit by updating their original blog themes with some sort of Halloween blog theme...

MeAndMyDrum - Mark got into the Halloween spirit early and added his Halloween header back in September on the 30th. He was definitely off to a spooky start, recognizing that the time for ghoulish fun was fast-approaching!

Pink Internet Marketing - Danielle added a touch of Halloween fun to her Pink Internet Marketing blog with a new header image, courtesy of our good friend Hernan. Love it Danielle! And as always, great work Hernan!

Ordinary Folk - Mike (my favorite web comic cartoonist) also Octoberized his blog...by replacing the "o" in "folk" with a pumpkin. His approach is the most minimalistic of the three, and reminds me of how Google and Yahoo! dress up their sites for special occasions.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the Halloween spirit these bloggers have added to their blogs. Be sure to leave a comment and let me/them know what you think!

UPDATE: Be sure to check out Erina's blog as she just added a very cool Halloween theme to it! :)

  1. I love Halloween!!!!
This year I might be Santa Claus or I might also dress up as that taco on South Park that poops ice cream. Or I might be spider. Or something else. ;)

  2. Cool Danielle! If you dress up as Santa Claus can I sit on your lap? No, wait...that should be the other way around. :P

    LOL.

Can't wait to hear what you finally decide on. Here's to having the Halloween spirit!

  4. "Hey... BTW is this a Johnny Cash blog background? :) I love it... I am mesmerized."

Glad you love it! And no, it's not a Johnny Cash background...though it could definitely double for that...

In fact, I'll most likely be using it again come the end of February...to celebrate his birthday. :)

  17. Your "bat curser" flew off of my screen and is tearing up my curtains... what should I do????

    Speedcat is scared!!!

I saw you peeking in my window to see if my holloween dish had any candy in it yet, I'll have it stocked up soon!

    Cheers from Eric

  18. I love your blog's Halloween costume! I also think that Mike's little pumpkin is too cute.

  19. @Speedcat: First of all...no matter what you do...DON'T FREAK! I programmed it to do just that...and I'm really glad that you let me know it's working as I had originally planned. :)

Honestly, and up until just now, it was 100% unsuccessful. :( So I made a few little tweaks that seem to have done the trick...at least at your residence. Now, the question still remains...Does it work elsewhere? Only time will tell. :P

    Shine on,
    Aaron

PS: To make it stop, just repeat these secret, magic Halloween words..."Stop tearing up my darn curtains, you crazy bat!"

PPS: I'll be back for the candy!

  20. @Erina: Thanks! :) And me too. Mike knows just how to make things cool...as do you. :)

  21. Well, this is embarrassing. The same bat/curtain thing happened to me too, only I thought I had done something wrong like not letting it get at my browser's cookies. Good to know it was meant to do that.

[goes off to repeat the magic phrase...]

Darn, I can't say for sure, but it looked like he gave me "the bird", he's so tiny, you know. I'll try using a Mason jar like I do with fireflies and let you know how it goes.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Gave you the bird? Uh-oh! That wasn't supposed to happen! I'd better fix that right away. Or do you think I should leave the bird-flipping feature in there? Maybe it all adds to the fun of having a tiny little bat cursor flitting around your house and tearing up your curtains. ;)

  23. It's actually kind of cute, so I'd leave it. :)

Thanks for keeping it real and authentic.

  26. Hehe, that's a fun idea! I only have a few days until Halloween, so if I have time I'll make a Halloween-themed header image =)
