Super Link Sunday - Batch #6

Super Link Sunday - Batch #6

Listen to the audio commentary!

Hello and welcome to the sixth edition of Super Link Sunday!

Super Link Sunday is where I take the time to give out some well-deserved link love by featuring some of the more noteworthy posts, blogs and bloggers I came across during the week.

But First...Some Happy Birthday Wishes!

I'd like to take the time to wish my dad a very happy Happy Birthday! Yep, my dad turned 60 years young today! Love you, Dad! :)

To see some really cool pics of where I grew up, and of the countless sunflowers and cosmos he planted in front of our house this summer, check out out this post:

Pictures From Home - The Perfect Cheerer-upper!

And now, back to our regularly-scheduled programing...

Super Link Sunday All-stars

Impressive would be an understatement - "Every so often I love to scour the web looking for new music from artists I’ve never heard of. Believe it or not I’m not always looking for metal either. Years ago I used to play a lot of acoustic and classical guitar, so naturally one of my loves is acoustic guitar. Today I stumbled onto one of the most impressive acoustic guitarists..."

How You Can Test Everything On Your Blog - "Test Everything! does exactly what it says. Going from site to site in an endless effort to check things about your blog is a thing of the past...There are quite a few CSS and HTML validators to choose from. SEO tools abound too..."

Why leveraged income is the best kind - "I read a lot of 'make money online' blogs. I appreciate them all, as I have learned quite a bit about how to blog. But, when it comes to making money I almost feel a little sorry for some of them...Even “successful” bloggers who have hundreds or even thousands subscribers seem to be very proud of earning a couple hundred dollars from adsense. Personally I just can’t get my mind around the concept of getting paid only once to advertise somebody else’s..."

45 Best Freeware Design Programs - "In a previous post I gave you a list of 85+ Free Killer Resources Every Designer Should Know, which had a great response. Now, in the same line, I have smashed 45 Freeware Design Programs among literally thousands and thousands. It was a great quest, and it was worth it. No, it won’t replace your..."

Leave A Comment Get Some Link Love

'Tis true! As part of Super Link Sunday, every single person who leaves a comment here on my blog will get some special link love in the upcoming week's SLS post. Btw, thanks to all of you for your wonderful comments!

Here are this week's awesome commentators, listed in alphabetical order:

Andrew, AntiBarbie, Bobby, Dave, Erina, Hernan, Kristina, Mark, Mike, Muse, Opal, Oscar, Tish, Todd, Tom, Ty, Valentin

*If you left a comment here this week and I didn't list you, please let me know!

The Link Love Wild Card

In Super Link Sunday - Batch #3 I introduced the Link Love Wild Card. This is where I randomly pick a blog and "hand" out some link love. And since it's totally at random, it'll most likely be a blog I've not come across before.

So let's deal the cards, shall we? This week's Link Love Wild Card is:

VirusHead - VirusHead is a blog written by Dr. Heidi (a.k.a. VirusHead). According to her about section, VirusHead is a blog where, "a humanities Ph.D. posts on viral themes, politics, religion, culture, and daily life."

Though I've not yet had the time to thoroughly explore Heidi's blog (as the Link Love Wild Card is chosen totally at random), VirusHead looks to be a pretty interesting place. In fact, and as far as I'm concerned, any blog that uses the description, "Mutating bits of contagious discourse, because language is a virus," must be, at the very least, interesting!

So be sure to drop by Heidi's blog and say hello!

The Link Love Loser Award

Also recently new to Super Link Sunday is the Link Love Loser Award. This is an award that I reserve specifically for bloggers whom I can't stand, really hate and totally despise - but of course, only on Opposite Day! ;)

Lasts week's Link Love Loser Award recipient was the, "Nothing worth reading. Nothing worth seeing. Nothing but a vast collection of, 'I'd rather chew glass than read this mindless drivel' drivel" blog of Valentin.

This week's famed Link Love Loser Award goes to:

MeAndMyDrum - OK, so where do I start on this one?! Sheesh. First of all, just check out the blog's name...MeAndMyDrum. Yeah, and this from a guy that got all over Valentin last week for not being able to afford an "e" at the end of his name.

Yeah, you should talk, Mark! You can't even afford SPACES for your blog's name! Never mind the fact that you only have ONE freakin' drum! Any decent blogger would have at least one extra drum on hand in case the drum head broke! Not to mention other important drumming components like, say: symbols, hi-hats, tom-toms, a kick pedal, a throne, etc.

But nooo, not you! It's just YOU and YOUR DRUM!

Honestly, I'd like to spend more time on this one, but I simply don't have the time to devote waste on these ONE-man, ONE-drum bands anymore. Those days passed long ago...back when I learned how to use a telephone and ask people, "Hey, how much for that drum kit?"

Collective Applause

So let's all give a big, rhythmic round of applause for this week's Link Love Loser Award winner! And be sure to leave a comment to let Mark know how much you truly hate his blob...I mean, blog....On Opposite Day! ;)

Also...don't forget to Stumble (and/or Digg) this post! -Especially if you were mentioned in it! Stumbling and Digging any post that links to your blog means more traffic for you! :)

  1. LOL Aaron. You never cease to amaze.

Congrats to Mark. I certainly hope this attention will lead to his being able to afford more than ONE measly drum. LOL. Mark, I hate you and your blog! But only on opposite day, of course. :D

  3. @Oscar: Thanks buddy! And I'm sure that Mark will appreciate your kind (and rhythmic) support. We all know how much he desperately needs it! :P

  4. Okay...okay. We can handle this like grown adults, can't we...MR. POOPY PANTS!?

Go ahead and make fun of me and my one little drum, you who's hair color doesn't exist in the rainbow!!! FREAK!

And I can afford plenty of spaces, "buddy". I just don't like to flaunt my wealth, unlike you and your "let-me-spell-out-dot-com" thingy. Oh that's soooo original. "Ooo, look at me everybody with my pretty pink hair and domain name that isn't quite original, so in order to make up for it I have to distract you by putting a photo of me eating fire and spell out "dot com" just to get a little attention."

    Waiter? Barf bag, please.

    =============================
LOL, this being Opposite Day, I wanted to let you know that I'll remember this moment for as long as I can. :)

  5. LOL. First of all, it's MR. Poopy Pants to you, fella! Oh wait, you already said that. Ooops, never mind. :P

    Soooo...

Second of all, (and quite clearly) it's red, not pink.

Seems your low-drum-affording financial problems have also drastically affected your ability to view the world in true color. Man, that's crying a shame. You're missing out on so much!

Thirdly, if you could afford them (those SPACES, that is) I'm quite sure they'd be there, wouldn't they? Yeah, I though so!

And fifthly (Notice that I skipped fourthly...because you don't even deserve it!), don't you even dare diss on my "dot com" status, little one-drum drummer boy! If I had a penny for every visitor who came across this little Aaron-Cook-Dot-Com "thingy" (as you so put it), then I'd be right here where I am...which exactly where I am, dammit!!!

OK, so that probably didn't make much sense. But that's simply because you're nothing but a MeAndMyDrum ONE-man, ONE-drum blogger/drummer wanna-be. And if you could actually "afford" comprehension, you'd probably "beat" yourself to death.

So stick that it your pipe, I mean drum, and smoke it...I mean, beat it!

Btw, I'm also quite sure that you can't afford a waiter, either. So "barf bags" are clearly out of the question here. Better resign yourself to the terlet like the rest of the Link Love Loser Award winners have! :P

    Shine on,
    Aaron

    PS: You ROCK!!!

  6. Having trouble counting there, Mr. Pink (I mean, RED) Hair Boy! There you go trying to distract us again by making it seem like I don't deserve a fourth reason, but be honest now -- you've had a hang-up about the number four since you were, well, FOUR! Your birthday father (you sure he's your father?) emailed me a moment ago telling me your fours sounded like fives. They thought it was cute, so they didn't correct you. Sorry to expose your secret...not!

So I'll stick that loser award in my drum (the only advice I'll EVER take from you), but I won't smoke it because I know I'd look pretty stupid smoking a drum (you thought I'd fall for that, didn't you?). Besides, my restraining order clearly states I should stay away from matches and I don't want to muck things up.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to study that potato gun video again. I almost have mine finished.

    P.S.
Oh all right, you rock, too. XOXOXO

    ReplyDelete
  7. LOL. By damned, they promised to keep that a secret! Damn fools. What kind of world is it when you can't even trust your own parents!?

Btw, let me know when you finish your potato gun. Erina and I have planned a blogger-get-together wherein we all fire off our potato guns in our underwear. -Just read the comments. ;)

And since she's damn hot, I'm game! I suppose we can include you as well...so long as you don't mess things up by showing up with a ONE-barreled, ONE-taser potato gun. Yeah, leave it to you to do that! :P

    LOL.

  13. OG (mean Oh My God, without the "My") !

"MeAndMyDrum" dot com is actually misspelled. In fact is MeAndMySPOON.
And as we know from Matrix, "There is no spoon".
So all is left is "MeAndMy".

Well .. in this particulary case, "me and my" is more no less than a simple attempt-oxymoron. Unsuccesfully attempt, of course ...

And while he mention "rainbow" here, .. well, in fact Mark reach here to read Aaron`s great post comming from HERE, where he usualy spent lot of time trying hard to figured out ... no, to answer to "A WebQuest for First and Second grade students" ..

How much time Mark spend there ? 24 hours a day in any Opposite day !

  14. @Heidi: You're more than welcome! And that's a good question. Hey everyone, are you forgetting to say hi? Don't be shy! :)

@Bucky: Thanks for the tag buddy! :)

@Valentin: LOL. Good one buddy. Now Mark will be able to learn his colors. :P

  18. Aw, thanks for the link love Aaron. I really do appreciate it.

I really enjoy your audio commentary. I wish you would provide it more often. You have a great voice. Did you ever consider being a radio personality?

    ReplyDelete
  19. @Erina: You're quite welcome!

And thanks for the compliment! I'll try to work more commentaries in. :)

I'm glad that people like my voice and the audio commentary. I actually can't stand my voice...though I think most people probably feel the same way about theirs as well.

As for going on the air as a radio personality...my friends actually say the same thing. But I get a little wild in situations like that, so it'd have to be one heck of a loose show! LOL.

It'd have to be on satellite radio or something where you're free to say what's on your mind without censorship and such. Then I'd do it. But on a regular radio station? Ha ha, I'd probably be fired on the first day for causing too much of a ruckus. :P
